Quick, not too exciting update:
Matt is flying to Atlanta tomorrow to pick up our new car. Yea!! He should be home by Tuesday afternoon - then he leaves Wednesday for his baseball trip.
Baby room is very slowly coming together - Matt is painting the ceiling as I write and probably won't get to the walls and trim until after the baseball trip - which is when my part of the room starts! I am hoping to get a couple of projects done this week (curtains and recovering the rocking chair) so when the room gets turned over to me, it's a quick process. In the mean time I have plenty of sewing and projects in other rooms to keep me busy.
I should be working on Kate's baby album on Shutterfly - I have it over half done! If I would keep up this pace I could probably get caught up on our family albums by the end of the year....
I also am hoping to consign at a sale this week - I would love to get rid of some of my baby gear - anyone have stuff they want me to "store" for a few months? I am tired of my laundry room looking like a Babies R Us lost and found.
Speaking of babies, the girl I am paired with for Young Lives (Young Life ministry to teen moms) had her baby this week - she is beautiful, but teeny tiny! - only 5+ pounds - I was holding her looking at my own huge tummy thinking that she is probably the same size as my baby girl but I won't get to hold mine for another 6+ weeks!
I need to write a post on Young Lives, but that will have to be another time - although if you think you might be interested, we are looking for mentors - we have a lot of girls who don't have a one-on-one relationship with anyone yet.....
oh yes, I am feeling fine. Still having annoying contractions every so often, but I think I am doing an okay job of resting. The hot weather helps kind of because I don't want to go anywhere or do anything really. I do feel bad for the girls though.... they haven't hardly been outside lately - except for last night we let them strip and play with the hoses and baby pool in the backyard. A good time then but tonight Matt had to make a quick run to Walgreens for Calamine lotion because poor Kate has about 50 bites (no exaggeration) from her shoulders to her calves and everywhere in between :(
pics that will hopefully appear this week: new cars! and maybe one of Yvette & Elena (YL)

We've been looking for Papa's truck. If you are ok with it and Macy wants to, she is welcome to spend a day hanging with us. She could come over in the morning and then go home after naps (?) Does she still take a nap? Anyway, I was just thinking at the park yesterday about how Tommy needs some other kids to play with soon. He is starting school 2 days a week right when we get back, so 2 weeks without any kid interaction probably wasn't our best plan. Let me know if you think that would be a nice rest for your mom and Papa.
ReplyDeleteHey Tara, are you serious about the baby stuff, even though you are having another? I am guessing Matt told you our news (although I haven't posted it on our blog yet).
ReplyDeleteI don't have anything for a newborn, especially a girl, if it is that. I would like a good sling and we need a stroller rig for the carrier we already have, if you have one of those. Let me know if you have anything like that, or anything else you think we might need.
Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new girl, and hearing more about Young Lives!!!
