Cath Day

Today's Treatment:
Mom got the cathetar put in today.  It has 3 "pigtails" that they can use for giving her all the different medicines and things that she will get over the next couple of months so she doesn't have to get stuck for everything.  It must have not been too bad since she and Dad went out for brunch afterwards :)  Although the sedative didn't work so she was alert and could tell what they were doing when they did the procedure *wince*.

Tomorrow morning she will go in for the first chemo dose - cytoxin.  I can't remember at this very moment what this is for, but I do remember that this is what will make her hair fall out in a couple of weeks :(  She said when her wig comes in we can take a pic of her in it and put it on here :)
Everything they are doing for the next 10 days or so is to stimulate the bone marrow to produce lots of stem cells for the Stem Cell Harvest which is tentatively scheduled for the monday after Easter.

Prayer:
* Pray that the chemo in the morning goes smoothly.  That the medicines for the side effects (nausea and whatnot) would work great and that she would feel good through the next few days when they tell you to expect to feel cruddy.
* Pray that Dad would sail through his crash course in nursing as he will need to be able to change out her iv bags and help with some of that for the next couple of days.

Praise:
* Dad seemed to be feeling good today (I didn't ask but he seemed healthy!)
* Praise God for apparently giving Mom a very high pain tolerance as she just sails through all the poking and prodding. (Wish this had been passed on to me!)

Thanks for praying!
