Not the best doctor's appt ever.

So I have been having contractions for 2 days. not labor contractions, but contractions none the less. after surviving all day yesterday with them and waking up with them this morning I thought I should call the doctor.

I went in and received news I could have guessed, but was hard to digest still. My body is telling me to slow down. How do you slow down with 2 toddlers? And a long to-do list? They want me to "rest" as much as possible - aka do not chase my kids around, lift them up, take them swimming, to the zoo, etc etc. And take Benedryll 4 times a day - like I will be able to even keep my eyes open to see my kids with all of that in me! It's supposed to calm my uterus down to help it stop contracting.

I am dialated 1 cm which would be great about 7 weeks from now, but not the best news today. I guess it's not unusual for someone to dialate this early on a 3rd pregnancy, but still is a little unsettling. Going from having to pry my other two out of the womb to trying to keep this one in - who would have thought?

I also found out I am hypoglycemic. (I had my orange drink test last week) I dealt with this a little after high school, but really have never had any other problems. Again just a shock when it was never a problem with the last two. She said it was still low on the scale but I need to reduce sugar and add protein. Very tricky with my huge sweet tooth.

Hopefully when I go back next Thursday I will not have progressed anymore and he will at least let me get off the Benedryll and leave the fog.

Oh and did I mention Matt is leaving for camp on Sunday morning for all of next week?
Seriously I am praising God for what good friends and family we have - I think the girls have somewhere to go most of the week, but if you are just dying to hang out with them let me know!

  2. Hang in there! Not easy for a mom of 2 toddlers to slow down at all!

  3. Tara,

I will be praying for your body to quit contracting. I wish we lived closer so I could help. Being a mom is so fun. :)
