Maybe some of the best, probably some of the hardest.
Kate has now officially been around one half of one year. Her stats from the doc this morning are 17 lbs. (65th percentile) 26.25" (52nd percentile) 16.5" - head (48th percentile). She is rounding out a little since her 4 month checkup when she was 75th in height and weight and 50th for her head.
She is really a joy - although she is much more challenging for me than Macy has been - so far! Things can always change!
We made the most of the beautiful weather and headed to the park for quite a while today with Cristy and Gracen (buddy Jared was also spending the day with us :))
Hmmm.... news for the week:
We are really missing Mimi! my mom is in Colorado at a wellness center getting some treatments for her cancer and we are ready for her to come home! matt and i are definitely missing her as much as the girls - we are having to find babysitters!!! She won't be back until the end of next week though, so if anyone is looking for something to do Saturday night, we are looking for a babysitter ;)
I made my semi-annual haul from Britches and Lace consignment sale last night - most of it was clothes for macy for this spring and summer, but i also came back with some goodies for my expecting cousin Cory (pack n play and bathtub), some stuff for mom and dads (extra booster seat, montiors and a potty (I'm being optimistic that we will need to have potty training stuff sometime in the next 6 months!)), and some super cute clothes for my niece and nephew in FL. Kate really got the short end of it, but such will be her wardrobe - hand-me-downs forever. She did get 2 dresses, an outfit, and a swimsuit. The funny thing is that technically all of Macy's clothes are hand me downs too since i get almost everything for her from consignment sales and garage sales, so it's not like Macy is getting spoiled and Kate gets the shaft although I'm sure in about 10 years she will be trying to convince us that that is the case.
In other fun news, congrats to my cousins Ben & Erin on their new boy - Brett Levi. I am hoping we can make it up there to welcome the little guy tomorrow and since both my kids are currently not runny out of any bodily orifice I won't even feel bad about bringing them too! So speaking of a new baby, I really should have been sewing instead of typing but it's so late I decided I'd just do the computer part for several orders and gifts tonight and hopefully crank out a few things during the day tomorrow.
Look for upcoming fun reports on visiting the new baby, possibly going to see Sesame St Live tomorrow night, and Footloose on Saturday - big weekend for us! Plus they are installing the new windows in the basement tomorrow so that project will be back on after a brief pause this week!
Also if you are a calendar marker, Kate's Baby Dedication is scheduled for April 1st - no kidding. Let me know if you want to come!
Thanks for the update! That is such a cute pic of Kate! Love it. Looks like you all are going to be busy this weekend! Enjoy all the shows. We get to go to Cirque du Soleil next week, which I'm looking forward to. Oh, by the way, the curtains turned out cute.
ReplyDeleteShe looks so different from Macy. Sounds like she's a totally different child too. ;-)Hope your mom is doing well.

Fish. Dont make any plans for Mon night. You and me and some Dr. Pepper and all the catching up we will have to do once everyone goes to bed. I am soo soo soo excited for Vacation. See ya next week. That pic of Kate is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI think we're booked on the first--we're supposed to go to Matt's grandparents to celebrate some birthdays.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Cory, does she still live here? Can you send me her e-mail again? I'd really like to be in contact with her especially since they are now expecting. Boy they move quickly! I hope your mom is doing better too.
