This is an opportunity to help with YoungLives, if you are interested....


We need your help to stock the Young Lives' closet (known as Megan’s Blessings which is described in more detail in an email below). We are asking you to bring one (or more) new items listed below and we'll provide you with a scrumptious coffee and snack to kick start your day. Please stop by the Dillon's, located on Central and Rock Road on Thursday, April 23rd from 8:30-9:30am. We’ll set up in the northwest corner of the parking lot adjacent to the gas station. We are grateful for anything you can provide at this time. (Please keep your receipts for tax deduction purposes.)We will not be collecting used donations during this event. We would be happy to make arrangements for those particular items on a different day. You are always welcome to drop those off at your convenience at First Evangelical Free Church, located on Woodlawn, just south of 21st Street, in the Young Lives room located in the basement (room B-1).

Hello!

I have recently become involved in a new ministry within the Young Life organization (www.younglife.org) and specifically with Young Lives (a Christian teen pregnancy ministry). So far, Young Lives Mentor and Lead in TWO Wichita high schools. A THIRD school has requested YL to help in their school as well. The goal is to continue to grow Young Lives and eventually be in every high school. Mentors and leaders meet with the teen moms during the lunch hour at their school each week. They share God with them and are there to support and encourage them. We also have ‘club’ once a month and the mentors seek outside activities to bond with their girls even further.

“Megan’s Blessings” will become a resource room/center for our teen moms to get supplies they need for their babies. We will be taking in donations (ie gently used clothing (sizes 0-4T), new baby clothing, new baby items and financial donations). The financial donations will allow us to go purchase larger items when the need arises, such as cribs, mattresses, carriers, car seats, etc. Since this part of the Young Lives’ ministry is brand new, we are in need of EVERYTHING. If you would like to donate to “Megan’s Blessings”, please let me know. Also, please forward this email to others you may know with items they would like to donate.
