This blog is going to temporarily be taken over to be an update for my mom Becky as she goes through a stem cell transplant for the next couple of months.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and love for her!

Cheese, Camp, Cereal, and Cici's

Ever the fashionista, this is Kate in the outfit she picked out for church a couple weeks ago. Matt was not too sure I would approve, but this is definitely a battle I am not fighting. When else in her life will she be able to pull off a look like this? Plus it was Matt's birthday and she does look festive.
Kate is doing great with potty-training but before our trip this last weekend usually I would need to remind her to go potty every so often. She is really making progress though and today she got up on the potty by herself. I had heard her but got distracted and realized quite a while later that she had never hollered and asked for help getting down. When I went to check on her she was still sitting there, working her way through the pottery barn kids catalogue that came today. She looked SO cute. Someday my kids are going to hate that I took pictures of them on the potty.

It's hard to get a pic of Kate without her making her cheese face so I snuck this one... doesn't she look like such a big, pretty little girl - even though she is on the potty!
quick notes on the rest of us: Matt and I were blessed to spend last Wed-Sun at Frontier Ranch in Buena Vista, CO with the other staff and spouses from our Young Life region. Lucy went with us and the big girls stayed at my folks'. They had a great time and Kate didn't even want to come home when we went to pick them up. I would much rather have them love it at Mimi's than have them begging us to come and pick them up! Lucy and I hung out with a few other people that choose not to ski. Matt had a blast skiing and wasn't even too sore, but he did come home with a headcold. Thankfully he is making a quick recovery since he is leaving Thursday morning for his trip to Myanmar. Only a short 2-day flight away! More on that to come.
In Lucy news, tonight she finally figured out how to eat cereal without all of it immediately being spit out of her mouth. (Only took almost 2 weeks of at least one feeding a day!) I think we may try some applesauce in addition to the rice cereal tomorrow since it won't all end up on the bib!
And finally to give Macy a little airtime, errr blogtime, a funny story I meant to post in Dec.:
Matt decided it would be a fun tradition to start taking the girls out for lunch on their birthday, just the two of them. So when he told Macy he wanted to take her to a nice restaurant for her birthday and she got to choose, we had to laugh at her choice: Cici's pizza. Only the finest dining for the Shepherd family.
