ahhh, friday morning.
This will make you feel good about your day: usually the girls have friday friends - aka mom's day out on fridays from 10-3, but they are re-modeling the building so no ff today. several of my nearby friends have their kids going, so we were all trying to think of something to do today. someone found out that pump it up had a morning play time on fridays. It's not cheap, but I thought it would be fun since we hadn't been since macy's birthday. So we finally get ourselves out the door - pretty much on time which is a miracle. However as I shut the girls' car door, I slam my left hand pointer finger in it. Not good. It is already bruised and I'm sure that means the fingernail is coming off. nasty. and it still hurts 4 hours later. Then we pull out of the drive and I realize the door on the passenger side back seat is open. and it won't close. something was wrong with the lock or something. I couldn't figure it out so I had to go back inside and get matt out of the shower to come and fix it, which he did in 2 seconds of course. So finally we are on our way. I drive to where I think it is - after wondering around, not finding it, I call matt and say "It's on Webb right?" "No it's on Greenwich, didn't you get lost going there last time?" Yes, thank you for the reminder. So we finally make it to pump it up - park forever away - walk to the door - only to see that it is a full session and no more kids can come in. Lovely. Would someone like to tell my 3 year old who has been talking about it for 45 minutes (while patiently waiting on her mother to get her there) that now we cannot go in and play? So we go in to tell our friends that are there hi, but we can't stay. Which actually was okay because the place was a zoo. And they raised the price. sheesh. So I have also already told macy that we can go to Cici's Pizza for lunch after we played. It is only 10:15. I call my mom since we are much closer to her house than ours. She is at the doctor (side note: very good news today. Her hemoglobin was at a 10 - hasn't been that high since she was diagnosed a year and a half ago! and she is still recovering from pneumonia, so hopefully that means the meds are working really well and really fast!!) Okay so now I am again driving aimlessly trying to think of something better than mcDonald's play place to waste an hour. So I drive past My Gym on the off chance that they also have an open play time of some sorts exactly at the time I needed it... this is where our day finally turns around! They had a class starting at 10:30, and you get one trial visit! So I chased both the girls around for an hour and we all had a lot of fun. Don't know if you have those in KC, but it is a neat little deal. Way too expensive, but the free trial was good! Maybe sometime we will let Macy take a class there as a special treat with birthday or christmas money. The teachers were great and their equipment was super nice. We had done gymnastics at the YMCA (which ours here are really nice) but this was way better. I guess you get what you pay for. So then we did go eat at Cici's, which was fairly uneventful except when macy had to go to the bathroom. So I stood outside the bathroom door, opening it every few seconds to check on her, and then trying to keep an eye on kate and my purse back at our table. Now we are home and macy is boycotting her nap. I finally get kate to give up the morning nap and now macy thinks she needs to give up her afternoon nap. Not good. But she has been sweet and told me no less than 10 times how much fun she had this morning.
