Ahhh, to celebrate!

This is a big week in the world. For most people it means that Elvis has been gone for 30 years. But it also means that I have been here 30 years. Harder for some to believe than others. Several have asked how I am feeling about turning 30 and my honest answer is that it isn't so bad. I think it is partly because I am kind of where I thought I would be at 30. Obviously the details were fuzzy, but you know married with a couple of kids and a house and a dog - again. (another story for another day. short version: buddy has moved back in.) And it definitely helps that I have felt so loved and known this week. Starting with friends coming to town to celebrate and my husband throwing me a very surprise party (another story I will elaborate on soon). I have gotten some cards and well wishes and also some good insight into my life which was poignant and extremely helpful to some struggles I have had/am having. okat it's time to make dinner and wrangle my children who are not excited about my responsibility to update the world via blogging....

  1. Yea! Happy Birthday Tara. I'm glad that you made a post. I was curious if you all had arrived home from your summer adventure yet. I'm glad you've had a smooth transition into the thirties. :)

  2. I was just thinking the other day, I'm going to remember Tara's birthday this year, because I forget every year and feel bad. I was excited for 30, but as it gets nearer, it feels weird. It makes me sound so old, when I don't feel old. I'm sure any 40 year olds reading this are hating me right now!;-)
