Fun Days

Today we went to Exploration Place - this was Kate's first trip that she was big enough to play and she thought the water thingy in particular was pretty fun!
Yesterday we went to the zoo with Michele, Sophie, Heather and Caitlin. We do love the SCZ! I really feel lucky that we have such a great zoo here. We got a membership for Christmas and I am excited to use it more now that the weather is getting nicer. Macy especially loves it and I think Kate even kinda looked at the animals yesterday. Macy has a whole list of animals that she always wants to see - lions are usually at the top right now (probably due to her current fascination with the Chronicles of Narnia movie) and she also wants to see penguins - I have no idea where that comes from because there aren't any at the zoo yet - however they are opening a new exhibit next month for penguins that is supposed to be really cool (ha ha groan.).

Cristy and Gracen went to E.P. with us today - normally Gracen is not a big fan of Macy's PDA's, but today they were so cute walking all over holding hands (check out Gracen's sweet boots - Macy needs a pair of those for camp this summer!) The new exhibit is called something like "When crocodiles ruled the earth". I think Macy was disappointed that there were no real live crocs. Of course it has a strong evolution theme, which I'm not too worried about my 2 year old becoming confused about but it does make me think about how we will handle questions in the future - I'm in no hurry for that!
This may be one of my favorite pics of kate ever...
Also check out our cute matching outfits from Mimi for Easter - I would have had them wear them on a warmer day but Macy has been dying to wear her skirt and hat.
Here is Kate after a rough day of eating - yes she's asleep in her highchair. The expression on her face makes me laugh because she kept falling asleep and her little head was bobbing... seriously I'm laughing even as I write this.... am I horrible?

Most of you already know that Macy is a total Daddy's girl - in fact I think she is totally going into withdrawal because Matt has been working on the basement so much the last several days. As you can see, I am not as worried about peer pressure right now for her as I am Daddy's inflluence!

Here's a last pic of Macy at the zoo - I swear I cannot figure out how to post pictures and they always look even different after they actually post.....
A few last updates...
They are laying carpet on Thursday in the basement and hopefully Matt will have all his parts done by then so we can start moving things down that night!!!! I have been putting off cleaning my house for a while now, so my excuse of waiting until the basement is finished is almost void! Luckily (I think!) I am hosting a baby shower for my cousin next Saturday so I have a deadline to work with.
And finally (drumroll please...) Kate slept from 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. last night!!! We have had Macy sleeping in our room in her toddler bed in the corner for the last couple of nights to see if that would help both of them get some better sleep habits going and I am crossing my fingers that it is working! We'll see how tonight goes -
leave a comment and let me know who's visiting us in blogland!

  1. I can't figure out how to get the pictures arranged on this either.
Looks like your little girls are having fun. We don't have a great zoo here, but I'm hoping to go with one of my friends, and her little one, once the weather gets warmer.
Maybe one of these days I'll get back to Wichita so I can see this new basement you speak of. :-)
