Survivor: Ridgewood

In case you were wondering, yes the girls and I survived having Matt gone all last week - thanks to some help from Mimi and Papa! Now Survivor: Ridgewood is taking on all new meaning... as any homeowner knows, house projects provide all kinds of opportunities - some good, some not so good. Our basement re-model is moving right along - thankfully - I am so sick of having a layer of concrete and sheetrock dust on everything! Hopefully before long we will be enjoying all our newly found square footage - in some ways it will be like having a new house. Hopefully all the crammed rooms we've lived with for the past four years will get new space and things will have more of a permanent home (one of my wishes - that all things in our house have a home and that they live there most of the time!)

kiddo update: kate is now the proud owner of two pearly whites - front and center, bottom row. She is downing any food we will give her - she had a valient effort at trying to get some cinnamon roll this morning. Overall she is getting to be a much happier, contented baby, now if we could just get her to sleep for longer periods at night ...

Macy is continually putting a smile on my face - except when she's not because she is 2 and that surfaces a few times a day usually. Seriously I find myself laughing at her all the time. Her language skills are moving so fast - although sometimes she says complete, long sentences and she sounds so grown up and then sometimes she says something and I have her repeat it a dozen times and I never do figure out what she is talking about. My most recent favorite speaking surprise was derived from her obsessive love of any kind of cheese - especially cheese sticks and cottage cheese: poop stuck. I bet you get the idea. someday (probably about 11 years from now) she will be moritfied that I announced this to the whole world. However the pics of the day do show her in all her girliness (although it took 4 tries to get one with her eyes open) and the one of Kate makes me laugh because it looks like someone just told her a hilarious joke... ps if anyone knows how to work the picture posting part of this i need a tutorial

  2. Man, a week without the husband...that could be good and bad ;-) My niece Abby is currently potty training, and her vocabulary is soaring as well. I'm coming home March 28-April 2. I'm flying though, so I won't get down to Wichita. One of these days I'll get to see Kate.
