today is supposed to be the last nice day for a while so i decided i needed to get out and plant the pansies that we got this weekend and i also put 50 or so daffodil bulbs in the ground. unfortunately i still have 50 left plus 100 tulip bulbs and 30 narcissis bulbs. those aren't going in today. i have discovered that i am either part old lady or part 50's housewife - two of my favorite things are gardening and sewing...
the gardening part is partly obligatory - our house deserves to have some tlc and since matt does most of our house "projects" i have taken on the part of gardener. i have to say for not having any experience or any eye for color or design, i do an okay job - every season is a learning one though - for example this summer i decided to try some different fowers in my pots and beds - yeah there's a reason i'd never really seen most of them any where else - they didn't look or do so great - so leason learned - next summer stick to things you see in everyone else's yards.
i have also discovered the joy of bulbs - you plant them and forget about them and then get a fun surprise in the spring - i am hoping to blown away next spring since there is absolutely no immediate satisfaction when you plant them, unlike my pansies - who are looking so cute and cheery in their new space - even the gas-line-flag guy commented on how nice my flowers looked.
pansies are interesting plants - they look so delicate yet they can survive through the winter and come back better in the spring...
well i could keep going on about my flowers and how much i like planting and watching things grow, but we are going to try and make it to a pumpkin patch today - look for pics of that.
maybe next post will be on sewing, my other old lady pasttime...
oh yeah as a final note - i think i may be the only person not on myspace - i probably should quit blogging and just go do that instead but i don't understand it and it scares me.
Hey Tara, so good to hear all that is going on. I really hope that the 28th will be a good time for us to share our hearts and journeys with eachother. Love the pics of the girls. thanks for reminding me that i never planted bulbs!!

I don't like Myspace either. I think it's for all the hip, teeny bopper like people. We're too old for that. ;-) Maybe I should plant some bulbs. My Dahlia's have been growing better in the cool weather than they were this summer. They've gone crazy!
