When I came in to get Lucy from her nap the other day I discovered how she had done such a good job at self-soothing - the magic thumb. As a former thumb sucker (with crooked teeth and a tiny spiked mouth piece to prove it) I have dreaded having thumb-sucking children. Thus I have forced the binki on all of them - looks like we are going to have to work harder on this one! And yes, I do think she is giving me a little grin of chagrin in the first pic which was actually the last one I took.

I sucked my thumb until I was 8 and had to be bribed with Jelly Shoes to quit. Nothing a little night headgear in 4-5th grades can't fix.

Your disclaimer cracked me up! I am also aware of that rule, but am a proponent of the "just thank the Good Lord the child is asleep!" rule. She is adorable.
ReplyDeleteand you are also aware that some babies will only sleep WELL on their tummies. as am i. call in the authorities--my babies always slept on their tummies.
