Week 3 Day 2

BBQ in the Aspen Grove last Thursday night....
remind anyone of our assignment last year?

Kate the Cowgirl

Macy the Cowgirl - kind of - she is completely boycotting all

cowboy-ish attire.

Miraculously I talked her into this hat for a couple of photos.

On Friday we were able to take the Jeep Tour that they offer the guests.

It is a really fun ride with about 6 miles of off-roading on the way to the old ghost town of St.Elmo.

The main attraction of St. Elmo these days is feeding the chipmunks
(apparently they make up the majority of the population.)

Macy camp-isms:

Chipmonkies (multiple chipmunks)

Radio (Rodeo - even after multiple corrections)

Saturday we took our partial day off and headed to Leadville.

If you are curious about the extra girls and wondering just how quickly we seem to be producing them, we borrowed the Fleske twins for the day.

This is a train ride that goes 11 miles up the moutain to an old mine and back.
3 and under were free (and they gave the girls free popcorn) so I think we were the best deal that day.
Side note about a picture I wish I had taken: In the picture above you can see it is quite a drop to get down from the engine (which is where we all had been right before this was taken). The very old man right before me got down okay, I managed to get all 4 girls and my prego self down okay.... and then came Matt. He seriously just bit it off the side and landed in the dirt. He doesn't look any worse for the wear does he?

Until next time!!!

  2. It's so awesome to see you guys out there!!

I have a picture of me as a child feeding the chipmunks at St. Elmo's just like Matt. I'll have to say, I think I was a little cuter when I was 4 doing it than Matt at 30(ish?).

But, your girls are definitely the cutest kids in Colorado!!!! Thanks for posting all those pictures!! I think it is super cool your girls get to grow up going on assignments. Especially when they look so good in cowboy hats. :)

    Praying for you guys!!
