Labor Day - Literally.

Yes like many fellow Americans we used the long weekend to do house projects, actually one huge project. We re-did our entire bedroom. We have an old fixer-upper that we love and we have done something in every room on the main floor and upstairs (in most rooms a lot of something), except our bedroom - until now.

I had the brilliant idea early last week that this would be a good project for us since we had three full days with no major plans. And it really was probably a great opportunity that doesn't come around to us very often.

Anyhow we now have a beautifully painted, clean adult-looking bedroom. We went with Cup of Cocoa walls and Colonial White trim. It looks great with our quilt that has lots of dark red - I plan on using that color to do some accents. We also moved several pieces of furniture around, in fact the only thing that stayed was the bed and an armoire (that will be moved out as soon as our basement is done).

I think both of us are extremely pleased with the results - I do still have several little touches to add: some curtains, pillows, wall decor, etc, but overall it is so fun to have a new bedroom! I will take some pictures tomorrow in the daylight and get them on here. Now if I could just get the rest of my house in as good of shape as that room I would be set!
